Colruyt Group launches its first Yoboo lifestyle pharmacy in Antwerp
Colruyt Group continues to develop its health strategy with the opening of its first Yoboo lifestyle pharmacy in Antwerp. Focused on prevention, this pharmacy offers customers practical solutions to better manage their health on a daily basis, placing the pharmacist in the role of a true coach.
The Yoboo concept, on the market since 2021, already allows consumers to track their health through the mobile app or via programs offered to companies. With this first physical pharmacy, the group expands its approach, making these health advice and services directly accessible in a space designed for well-being.
A pharmacy designed around lifestyle
The former Noorderlaan pharmacy has been completely transformed. Beyond traditional pharmaceutical services, the team now integrates lifestyle coaching into daily operations. The space, bright and welcoming, offers a redesigned assortment including specific food products and self-tests. Joris De Roover, CEO of Yoboo, explains that the approach focuses on three main areas: nutrition, physical activity, and rest, placing lifestyle at the heart of health management.
The pharmacist as a central advisor
In this new model, the pharmacist becomes a full-fledged health guide. Accessible without an appointment, they listen to patients and can provide guidance on concrete lifestyle choices. With Yoboo, advice goes beyond medication: nutrition, exercise, and rest are now part of the support offered. To reinforce this approach, Yoboo provides pharmacists with training, practical methods, and digital tools. Today, around fifty pharmacies are part of the Yoboo ecosystem, and more than 100 pharmacists have already been trained, with the aim of expanding the network across Belgium, including independent pharmacies.
A step in Colruyt Group’s health strategy
Colruyt Group, a shareholder in Yoboo since 2023, continues its ambition to become a key player in the food & health sector. Lisa Colruyt, the group’s head of health, emphasizes that this lifestyle pharmacy extends the group’s initiatives in nutrition, well-being, and physical activity, while making health coaching more accessible and personalized.
Currently, Colruyt Group operates five pharmacies and develops a fully integrated health ecosystem, including brands such as Bio-Planet, Newpharma, Jims, Colruyt Group Academy, Bike Republic, and Xtra. Stefan Goethaert, CEO of Colruyt Group, summarizes the strategy: “The combination of our physical and digital solutions is particularly powerful. But it is above all through intersectoral collaboration that we can truly make a difference for consumers’ health.”
