MDD Expo 2015’s final report
The exhibition dedicated to private label MDD Expo took place early May and the organization has recently published the key figures of this year’s edition.
The exhibitors
- 500 exhibiting companies
- 33% international companies coming fro: Algeria, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States ...just to name a few
- 10% of exhibitors represented non-food categories: Drugstore, cosmetics, hygiene, bazaar-DIY, packaging...
The Visitors
- 4500 visitors
- Of which 13% were international from: Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Russia, Algeria, Spain...
This seems to me less than what had been announced before the show, but the figure is still quite respectable. Especially since it is the quality of the contacts that matters. It is no use having thousands of contacts in a trade fair; exhibitors should only be interested in visitors holding a deciding role in their respective companies. And according to the analysis provided by the organizer, 80% of visitors were decision makers.
Side events
As announced, I have unfortunately not had the opportunity to go visit the show and must content myself with results available on the site. However, I regret it when seeing the selections of products for the first edition of the Trophée des Savoirs Faire Innovants. The ‘Teriyaky Beef and noodles’, the jury’s pick, looks indeed interesting.
The conferences also seem to have had a certain success attracting nearly 700 attendees.
Well, I guess what’s left for me to do is to note the 2016 dates in my calendar, especially since it will be the 15th edition.
