The retail of today and tomorrow will meet in Dusseldorf
The event only takes place every three years and it is certainly worthwhile. EUROSHOP will take place from the 26th of February to the 2nd of March and will bring together the latest trends and technologies in point-of-sale equipment. This year's show will once again take up the entire exhibition space at the Düsseldorf venue and the figures announced are more than respectable.
A showcase that cannot be ignored
Given the size of the event and the variety of exhibitors on offer, EUROSHOP remains a showcase for current retail trends. Visitors will be able to find many examples of trends such as the digitalization of the customer journey, the introduction and use of artificial intelligence, but also sustainability and the fact that commerce is becoming more local and customer-oriented.
These various elements will be illustrated in the various parts of the fair, which the organization has divided into eight dimensions: Shop fitting, Store design & Visual Merchandising, Retail Marketing, Lighting, Material & Surfaces, Retail Technology, Refrigeration & Energy Management, Expo & Event Marketing, Food Service Equipment.
Of course, visitors will also find the well-known dedicated areas of the event such as the Designer's Village, the Popai Shop Global Village, or the one dedicated to start-ups.
A visitor should also take a look at the show's conferences. It is always interesting to listen to some of the different keynotes. And with seven different podiums you can choose from a variety of conferences.
Finally, I'm curious about the new spaces announced this year. The two I will definitely visit are the:
- 42 Retail Ball Game an interactive space designed by students and which is supposed to show you the future of retail
- Future Urban Lab a space dedicated to the future of cities and how retail and its concepts fit into them
My 20/CENT
In 2020, before the lockdowns, the last international trade show I could attend was EUROSHOP. So, I'm very happy to be going to the event. And it's not for nostalgia that I strongly advise you to go to the trade fair too. Anyone who is active in retail should visit the trade fair at least once in their life. In fact, they should do so throughout their career. The event is a big show that brings together all the aspects that make up a retail outlet.
You can focus on one aspect, the one that concerns you most or in which you are active, or you can also browse the entire exhibition grounds to get inspiration from different ideas. The variety of exhibitors on offer is such that you can be inspired by a multitude of concepts, be it food, non-food, e-commerce, physical point of sale, checkout...the list goes on.
In short, as usual, I will be present at the show and hope to meet you there too.
