SIRHA Lyon is at your doorstep.
In mid-January, food service, hospitality and food professionals will meet at Sirha Lyon. The event will take place from Thursday, January 19 to Monday, January 23, 2023 and will be, once again, synonymous with meetings, demos, animations and business.
40 years of existence
This year will be a special year as the event celebrates its 40th anniversary. Created in 1983, the show has evolved to become a key event for food and catering professionals.
Sirha Lyon will bring together nearly 4,000 exhibitors and brands over an area of 140,000m². Professionals will be able to find, among other things: food products (from industry, artisans, distributors, wholesalers...), an offer for bakeries, pastry shops and confectioners (raw materials, ingredients, laboratory and bakery equipment, fittings and decoration), equipment for cooking and tableware, equipment for the restaurant industry, new technologies, ... and many others.
For Luc Dubanchet, Director of Sirha Food, the ecosystem that encompasses Sirha Lyon, at GL events, the show will once again be a highlight: "In a market that is as energetic as it is complex and a society that is undergoing rapid change, the 2023 edition of Sirha Lyon is more than ever awaited by professionals in the restaurant, hospitality and food industries. It will be an opportunity to reaffirm the economic and international power of the show within the Sirha Food ecosystem, to highlight the dynamics of Food Service and to look ahead to the future of the industry.
The aisles of Sirha Lyon will once again give way to business development and numerous exchanges between professionals, reflecting the economic weight that this global and international event represents for the entire profession."
A series of meetings and events
The show will once again be a scene of events highlighting the trends in the sector. To keep the agenda on track, the organization has decided to organize the five days of the event around five Sirha Dynamics: masterclasses, events and conferences will be guided by five major themes: Technonature (for a better balance between man and nature), Consume less but better, Human well-being, Human creativity enhanced (preservation of know-how) and Dream of modernity and escape. This concept will also be perceived by visitors at the Sirha Food Forum, a space for exchange that will host a stage and more than 60 professional and expert speakers.
But whoever thinks of Sirha also thinks of numerous events and competitions. During this 2023 edition, visitors will be able to count on
- Futur(e)s Food: an initiative that identifies innovative and committed "Food-Entrepreneurs". An award will be given by a jury to the best projects in the 5 categories "Agriculture", "Reconversion", "Solidarity", "Experience" and "Innovation".
- The Sirha Innovations Awards: an award for exhibitors' innovations in three categories: "Products, beverages, ingredients", "Materials and equipment" and "Technologies and services".
- Dedicated areas and meeting points by categories and emblematic themes such as Sirha Bake&Pastry, Sirha Coffee Show, Sirha Meat&Grill, Sirha Métiers de bouche, Sirha Design, ...
- Competitions: the show will once again be an opportunity for professionals, craftsmen and young hopefuls to compete in regional and international competitions, including the French Coffee in Good Spirit Championship, the French Bakery Cup, the Bocuse d'Or Grand Final, the World Pastry Cup, and many others.
It must be said that the event has become a sure thing in the calendar of food professionals. The show is known as a reference for the bakery, pastry and cheese sectors...in fact for real craftsmen and professionals in the food industry.
Moreover, as you know, the figures always show the success of an event. Here again, in terms of surface area and number of participants, the show demonstrates a certain constancy compared to previous editions. It is not by chance that so many competitions are gathered under the same roof. It is the result of an evolution over time and of a constant quality of the speakers.
Also, I will not fail to point out that the 2023 edition wishes to stand out and make efforts in terms of sustainability. The Sirha food app will accompany visitors in a paperless experience (no mandatory badge, maps available on the mobile etc...). At the same time, many measures are taken by the organization: reduction of carpet in the aisles of the show, recovery of recycled waste and bio-waste, collection and redistribution of foodstuffs, etc.
In short, this is a well-known fair with a loyal audience and a program that is in tune with current events.
To conclude, I will share with you a well-known thought in the sector: the Sirha is described as an event to be done "at least once in your life". So, for the novices, you know what you have to do. As for the regulars, I guess I don't have to convince you.
