20CENT Style A little Pasion in your glass

For this year’s first 20/CENT Style, let’s start with some Spanish wine noticed on the shelves of Delhaize.

For wine lovers, Murviedro Pasión is a range of wine from Spain that is organically grown. Pasión is available in white and red and invites you to find the Valencia region in your glass.

You will find the vineyards in the Spanish region of Valencia, near the Mediterranean coast in the east of the country. The influence of the Mediterranean is widely felt here and the climate is warm. The vines have been cultivated here for centuries on clay-limestone soils. The combination of these with the intensity of the sun give birth to fruity wines with a very good structure.

Interestingly, the Pasión range offers 100% organic wines that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The different wines of the range are blends of different varieties from the DOP Valencia.

Murviedro Pasión White

To create this white wine, the best Malvasia grapes from organic farming are selected. After harvest, cold skin maceration in a pneumatic press takes place for six to eight hours and it is then followed by fermentation with selected yeasts at 14°C.

This wine is quite aromatic and goes well with grilled fish, seafood and even rice dishes.

Murviedro Pasión Red

For the red wine, a blend of the Monastrell (90%) and Granacha (10%) varieties has been created. This wine is made by traditional vinification with fermentation for 12 days at a temperature of 26°C. The wine is then aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of four months.
