Anuga goes hybrid

Anuga goes hybrid

Major trade events will make their come back in the second part of the year. Among those classics, Anuga is going to take place in October. And Koelnmesse, the organizer, are confident that the show will be held in a hybrid format.

The theme is Transform

At the traditional official press conference, Koelnmesse unveiled their plans for the edition of Anuga 2021. "Transform" is the major leading theme of this year's event. Basically, the major mega trend today is health. And the same question keeps coming back. Actually, it also becomes more and more pressing: “how are we going to feed the planet’s population in a healthy and sustainable way in the future?”

Therefore, Transform reveals what the food and beverage industry faces at the current times. It is not just about innovation, not just about improvements, …transformation reflects the major shifts of today in order to answer the most pressing question of our time.

Anuga @home

The major change compared to previous editions is the hybrid format. The usual physical trade fair with product presentations on-site in Cologne will be additionally enhanced by the digital element Anuga @home. This hybrid format will allow participants from all over the globe to take part in the exchanges at the event, digitally or physically.

Various options will be offered digitally. Via the virtual lobby, you will get an overview of all features as well as initial recommendations for relevant contacts, exhibitors and imminent items on the trade fair agenda. Through the lobby, participants will also be able to navigate towards the main stages and follow the content of conferences and seminars.

My 20/CENT

In any industry, players have been waiting anxiously for tradeshows to come back. Trade events are major tools for maintaining relationships, discovering new business and network with your peers. And Anuga has always been a true reference in the food and beverage industry. So, this year’s event is definitely important on many levels.

The addition of a digital platform to make the Anuga a hybrid event is of course necessary and welcome. But what is good to note, is that the Anuga @home will not just be a channel for visitors to browse content. It will be a networking platform as well. Hence, if covid restrictions might still be applied in some areas, the Koelnmesse definitely offer various tools and opportunities for anyone, anywhere to be able to participate.

Personally, I look forward to attend, and I will hopefully meet you in the classic or digital way.
