20CENT STYLE AMICONE PINOT GRIGIO
If you browse the wine aisles of your favourite supermarket, you will notice that the rosé season is starting, and it's also starting with a new look for Amicone Pinot Grigio (the artist formerly known as Amicone Rosé Corvina). The bottle of this Italian wine from the Verona region has been modified and the label restyled.
For those who are not yet familiar with this wine, it is a friendly rosé that comes from vineyards in the southern part of Trentino and Veneto. The grape variety is 100% Pinot Grigio and the colour of this rosé is very light.
To produce it, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing and the must obtained is put in contact with the skins for about eight hours to reach a good colour and the right perfume. Then comes the alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 16° to 18°C. The wine is then aged for two months on the same yeast to make it full-bodied and smooth.
For tasting, like all rosés, it will be very good as an aperitif or with fish. Personally, I recommend it with white meat, such as roast chicken with rosemary and lemon.
The Amicone Pinot Grigio is available at Carrefour, Match and Makro at the recommended retail price of 9,99€.
