This week was interesting again and two news items caught my eye.
Koelnmesse establishes subsidiary in Colombia
Koelnmesse has been active in Colombia since 2014 with the Colombian trade fair company Corferias. But Koelnmesse decided to expand its presence on the Latin American market. How? By opening the subsidiary Koelnmesse SAS in Colombia. As a reminder, Koelnmesse currently organizes three trade fairs locally: Alimentec (food technology fair), Andina-Pack (packaging technology fair) and Feria Mueble & Madera (business platform for the furniture supplier industry).
Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH had this to say: "With the establishment of this subsidiary, we want to make even better use of the potential that Colombia and the Andes region as a whole offers us. As the third-largest national economy in Latin America, Colombia is very important for us as a trade fair market, but also for our events in Cologne,".
The new subsidiary will be responsible for Koelnmesse events in Colombia and for the distribution of Koelnmesse's global events to Colombian exhibitors and visitors.
The E-Forum is coming back
Last year I told you about the E-Forum that took place for the first time in Liège. Well I have some good news; the event is back this year. The 2018 edition will take place on October 22nd. But this time it will be at a more ‘central’ location, as it will be held in the Brabant Wallon. Two themes are going to be addressed at the show: a focus on market places and the evolution of retail due to the digital transformation.
It is good to see that an event with ambition doesn’t stop after one edition (like many sadly do).
