An international connected omnichannel event in the North of France

An international well designed event

The concept

#Conext is oriented towards the current and future challenges facing all types of commerce. As the organizers like to describe it, the event is “at the heart of French Tech”. But don’t think it’s a local event. It is an international trade fair where you get to hear different languages in the exhibition hall. To give you an idea last year’s event attracted around 10.300 visitors, and this year you’ll meet exhibitors from UK, France, Belgium, Ireland, and even Spain.

Concretely the themes of the show evolve around Data, Retail, Logistics and Consumer Relationships. The concept of the event is to offer a wide variety of exhibitors in these domains, and a series of conferences and events. Each day starts with a keynote, and about hundred conferences, seminars, and debates are planned.

Make sure to see

Next to the conferences and the exhibitors, there is one space on the event you should definitely take a look at. It’s the New shopping Experience 2016 by PICOM. The area presents 16 new innovations for the retail of the future. PICOM is a regional competitiveness cluster. It has created a new ecosystem dedicated to commerce and shopping through which companies (major retail and technology brands), higher education and research establishments collaborate to promote innovation through usages, with the objective of anticipating and building the commerce/shopping of the future.


20/CENT Going back for more

Last year, #Conext was one of the nice discoveries in my agenda. The show is easily accessible and features quite a lot of the basic necessities for an event of this size and ambition: variety of exhibitors, conferences …

But mostly the highlight of the show for me is the New Shopping Experience. It concretely shows items, which are changing or are going to change the shopper’s experience. I like the fact that some of the projects presented are a good mix of startups and well-established companies. Actually for those who missed them, some of these projects where already presented at Paris Retail Week (I mentioned some in my article back then, like the IVS/Flunch self scan system).

For sure, if you have the opportunity, at this event you can spend one day learning about the latest innovations in retail and also get inspired.
