Sweets & Snacks Middle East becomes Yummex Middle East

For its tenth edition, Sweets & Snacks Middle East becomes yummex Middle East. The organizers Koelnmesse GmbH and the Dubai World Trade Center decided to go for a new brand identity. The event will also be held parallel to other events The Speciality Food Festival, SEAFEX and Gulfood Manufacturing.

The message is that the new branding goes along with a proven concept and therefore still appeals to visitors and exhibitors. The increasing numbers since the launch of the trade show in 2007 prove the appeal of the event.

  • Number of exhibitors: 140 in 2007 vs 313 in 2015
  • Number of Visitors; 3500 in 2007 vs 8000 in 2015

Other signs of the increasing success of the show are the increasing diversity of exhibitors and also that many expressed their intention to return.

Furthermore, studies show that in 2016 the turnover for sweets in the Gulf States is expected to increase by 20 percent; on the Saudi market alone a growth of 43 percent for chocolate products is expected (according to a study by KPMG).  So the region still has lots of potential for companies looking to expand their activities and therefore, yummex Middle East is predicted to be a fruitful event.
